Meet NAPTA’s team made up of experienced transportation professionals with a combined experience of over 25 years working in the public transportation sector.

Charles Aholi, Executive Director, NAPTA
Mr. Charles Aholi – Executive Director/CEO

Charles is a lawyer with over 8 years’ experience working in the public transportation sector. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from Kenyatta University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Leadership and Management at the Management University of Africa.

He has wide experience in program development and implementation, policy analysis and development, stakeholder engagement, advocacy, support and management.

Mr. Babu Mukoko
Mr. Babu Mukoko - Director Urban Planning, Transport Planning and Sustainable Mobility.

Babu is a seasoned planner with a bias in Transport planning and Impact assessments. He has a wealth of experience having consulted for various organizations key among them Trademark Africa, UN-Habitat and JICA.

He holds Bachelor of Arts (Planning) from The University of Nairobi. He also holds Certificate in Environmental Impact Assessment/Environmental Audits from The Kenya Institute of Management. He is currently pursuing Certificate in Data Protection from The Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (CIPIT) at Strathmore University.

He is a member of Kenya Institute of Planners, Architectural Association of Kenya, Kenya Transport Researchers Network and Environmental Institute of Kenya.

 

Mr. John Paul Ochoro – Director Operations, Programs and Administration, NAPTA
Mr. John Paul Ochoro – Lead Operations, Programs and Administration

John Paul is an insurance and risk management professional with wide experience in operations management, insurance claims analysis and insurance claims process re-engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Egerton University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Insurance from College of Insurable Nairobi.

He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws from Mount Kenya University and Master’s Degree in Ethics and Organizational Leadership from Tangaza University College. He has previously served in different positions in the corporate sector and consults widely on insurance and risk management.

 

Austin Akuku
Mr. Austin Akuku - Director Finance and Investments

Austin is formerly a Senior Regional Finance Manager supporting AME (Africa and the Middle East) supporting
Technology and Operations functions within the region and currently is the Group Performance and Strategy
implementation lead at House of Procurement Kenya Ltd.
He has a cumulative of 16+ years’ experience in the Banking sector, holding regional responsibilities for the last 9 years,
with a wealth of knowledge in Bank’s products in the Retail and Corporate banking space, linking the Product journeys
from front end to back end (Operations), understanding different business models and their commercial viability in the
franchise.
He helped in setting up SC Ventures Africa and recently Solv-Ghana, has been assisting with finance-related support
from inception. (last assignment being on a 10-month full-time secondment in SC Ventures-Kenya). He has supported
accounting for all ventures across Africa (Solv-Kenya, Tawi, and Solv-Ghana), working closely with the SC-Ventures
finance team in Singapore.
Austin joined Standard Chartered Bank in September 2013 and has been at the forefront in championing the Technology
& Operations finance transition to giving insightful analytics and improved stakeholder management to Africa
Technology & Operations management that aid the decision-making process.
Austin is a UK-based Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) member with a Higher Diploma in
Microfinance from Strathmore Business School. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Maseno University and a
Masters in Business Administration- Strategic Management Option from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and
Technology- JKUAT. He is passionate about financial education and has volunteered in various Sustainability Initiatives
for Financial Literacy programs.
Before joining Standard Chartered, Austin was at Barclays Bank (now Absa Bank) from September 2007 to February
2009 serving as a Financial Analyst, and with Chase Bank (now SBM Bank) from February 2009 to September 2013
serving as Senior Business Performance Analyst.
Austin has a track record for driving business growth by aligning performance with business strategy to ensure
implementation. He aspires to oversee Finance and Strategy in a growing organization.

Ms. Clare Adongo Okidi - Head of Training, Research and Policy Analysis Building<br />

Clare is passionate about the development sector more so in the areas of sustainable mobility and social development. She is currently pursuing Master’s degree in Development studies at the Institute for Development studies – University of Nairobi. She holds a Bachelor degree in Development studies from Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology.

Clare has attended various certification, training and workshops in her area of specialization and has wealth of experience in Transport research and Project management.

Ms. Eunice Wachira Nyokabi - Head of Finance
Ms. Eunice Wachira Nyokabi - Head of Finance

Eunice is an accounts and finance professional. She holds a Diploma in Banking and Finance from Kabete Technical Training College. She has a wealth of multi-sectorial accounting work experience, having worked in Banking, Health and Security sectors.

Eunice has various certifications including Certificate in Alternatives Channels Training by Kenya Women Microfinance Bank, Certificate in Putting the Customer First from K-rep Bank Ltd and Certificate in Cashiers Training by Kenya Institute of Bankers.
